Watch out, a diet Low-carbohydrate

Healthy Diet - Low-carbohydrate diets have been introduced since 1860. However, over the time, low-carb diets do more extreme. Such kind of carbo diet called Atkins. The diet was not entirely good for the body, because it has many side effects to the risk of death.

Launched by Dr Atkins Diet. Robert C. Atkins is also a cardiologist at the beginning of the 70s. Atkins is a diet low in carbohydrates and high in protein, such as red meat, eggs, fish and sometimes grain leather.

Trimming carbohydrate intake to only 20-30 grams (equivalent to one slice of bread) course can disrupt the body's overall performance. In fact, humans need 50-60% of carbohydrates in a day or about 300 grams (equivalent to 8 servings carbohydrate, 1 cup of white rice per serving).

Official warnings about the dangers of the Atkins diet has been issued by the British government, which is concerned with the increasing number of people doing the diet. Warning followed by The Food Standards Agency, which is responsible for all nutrients from the government, also issued a statement that low-carbohydrate diets, including Atkins can lead to heart disease, cancer, obesity resulting in death.

"Reduce foods containing starch or similar food groups, can be hazardous to health, because you will lack nutrients. Type diet (Atkins) also cendurung unrealistic and bad, and not good to do in the long term," wrote The Food Standards Agency in website, as quoted from the Guardian.

Many doctors and the American heart association also warned the Atkins diet is harmful to health. Atkins diet can improve cholesterol. Compiled from CNN, experts say may trigger the risk of kidney disease, osteoporosis and bowel cancer.
